Disneyland 2011 Halloween Trip Report

Day 1

Saturday, October 29th

We woke up at 5:30 this morning to catch our 10:00am flight.  Leaving our house at 6:00am we arrived at the airport at 8:00am & we decided to park in long term parking at the airport for this trip.  After going through security we stopped at McDonalds for a bite to eat.  we ate by our gate & by the time we were finished with breakfast our plane was boarding.

We arrived at Orange county airport at 11:45am and made our way though the airport to baggage claim.  After we got our baggage we headed straight out the doors to find Supershuttle.  We had purchased tickets on Supershuttle prior to our arrival.  Our luggage was loaded and we were the only people in the shuttle so the driver waited for more people to show up & fill the shuttle.  Once everyone got on the shuttle we made the quick trip to the Disneyland area.  The shuttle stopped at 3 hotels before finally stopping at our hotel and we were the last to get off.

We stayed at the Anaheim Faifield Inn Marriott.  It was right across the street from the park & only down the road about a block from the main entry.  It was a nice short walk to the parks & was surrounded by fast food options.  There was a line at the front desk to check in.  Although we had requested a Nemo themed room & they were willing to meet our request, we opted for a normal room that was ready immediately rather than wait for the other room to be ready.  We wanted to change out of jeans & head to the Magic Kingdom.

We ate lunch at the McDonalds next to the hotel on the way to the Magic Kingdom.  It was dark before I could take too many pictures of the brightly colored halloween decor.  I had purchased a Photopass card with our package & decided to get a few pictures with those photographers also.

We ate dinner on the patio of the River Belle Terrace while we watched Fantasmic & the fireworks.  The weather there really did cool off at night & it was very chilly without jackets.  we enjoyed the show & called it a night in favor of an early start tomorrow.
