This trip was planned as a surprise trip for our 2 young boys. We had planned for months & they didn't have a clue. A little over a week before our trip, our oldest ended up in the hospital with an unknown illness. After almost a week in the children's hospital a neurologist finally found an answer for us & our son was better almost overnight. We got the o.k. for our vacation, but had to bring medication with us on ice everywhere we went. With this little hiccup I was almost glad that we hadn't told our children about the trip because they would have been so disappointed if we were unable to go. I was also VERY glad that we had purchased trip insurance. It was a good feeling to know that we would have been paid back any non-refundable portion of our trip.
The night before we were scheduled to leave we carved Halloween pumpkins. Inside the pumpkins I hid a note that said... We are, going to, Disneyland!!! Our youngest was thrilled, but our oldest, the planner, was already worrying about who was going to take care of all of our animals while we were gone. The oldest didn't hardly smile until the little guy's pumpkin fell apart.
Well... the video tells the story much better than I can.
