Disneyland 2011 Halloween Trip Report

Day 5

Wednesday, November 2nd

This is our final day in California today.  We had to check out of our hotel room in order to maximize our time in the parks.  So we checked out and left our baggage with the Bell Service.  They locked away our luggage and we would return to pick it up when our shuttle to the airport arrived.

First thing in the morning we planned to attend the Mickey's Toontown Morning Madness that was a special ticket to Disneyland ticket package holders.  Mickey's Toontown was very empty and there was no wait for the rides.  Although this area was geared primarily toward the younger set, we planned to take full advantage of what we were offered.  We were at the Toontown gates at 10:00 in the morning and then wandered inside and met Donald Duck for pictured and autographs.  We rode Rodger Rabbit, Cartoon Spin and watched the grand opening show for Toontown.  We then rode the little roller coaster several times with no wait and admired the quaint little area.

After finishing in Toontown we decied to allow the kids to decide what they wanted to do on their last day.  They wanted to re-ride some of their favorite rides and they wanted, more than anything, to frolic on the Pirate's Lair Island.  Pirate's Lair is basically a giant playground with lots of room to romp and roam.

After their playtime in Pirate's Lair they wanted to return to California Adventure to romp and play at the Wilderness Trail area.  Even I enjoy that area of California Adventure, but their dad decided to have another go at California Screamin' Roller Coaster while we wondered around the play area.  The kids spent the remainder of their time playing here and soon it was time to catch our shuttle back to the airport.

Super Shuttle did call us before our scheduled pick up time and told us that they were waiting on us.  we were on our way back anyway but we did not rush because it was not yet our scheduled pick up time of 3:40.  After getting in the Super Shuttle van, we stopped at several other locations, filling up the van before we took the short drive to the airport.  So this is in no way a private car service like what is offered in Florida.  it is a little inconvenient, but I am not sure of any other easy answer if you do not want to rent a car.

Our flight out was at 6:15 this evening and we sure do hope to return to Disneyland when Cars Land is completed.
