Day 2
Sunday, October 30th
Our day began at 7:00am. We ate cold cereal in our room. Our room did have a refrigerator so we had cold milk. None of us have ever been big breakfast eaters so I packed disposable bowels, spoons & little boxes of cereal & oatmeal for breakfast. As we consumed those items it made room in our luggage to take home souvenirs & of course candy from the Halloween party. After a quick breakfast we headed to the Magic kingdom.
The gates of the Magic Kingdom were beautifully decorated for the Halloween holiday. Once on Main Street the kids spotted Pluto and had to run over for autographs in their autograph books. Then next up on the agenda was to fastpass Haunted Mansion Holiday. we moved on to our favorite ride, Thunder Mountain Railroad. We were able to ride 3 times in a row with no wait at all. It was amazing to see the transformation into the Nightmare Before Christmas theme. This is something that can only be seen at Halloween in Disneyland. Disney World does not decorate the Haunted Mansion ride for Halloween. It was truly a sight to see.
We hopped over to California Adventure to grab a quick fastpass to see the World Of Color show. we had been told that it was tough to get a good seat & a fastpass was a must for good viewing of this show. Then we headed back over to the magic Kingdom.
After riding some of our favorite rides we decided to try our luck at getting into the Jedi Training Academy. We arrived about 30 minutes prior to the show to get a front row seat. When they began choosing children to participate our kids had to get really excited waving their arms & jumping around to get chosen out of the crowd. This was an amazing show!!! If you have a Star Wars fan in your house under the age of 12, this is a not-to-be missed show to participate in. At the end of the show the kids were given a certificate that said they had graduated from the Jedi Training Academy. They were thrilled and I cannot say enough about this Disney production.
Find a full length Jedi Training Academy video on the "Video Gallery" page. After our Jedi's were trained we went to lunch at Rancho Del in Frontierland. It was great & filling Mexican food. We sat at an outdoor table next to Thunder Mountain Railroad and watched as each train arrived at the train station. The weather was just perfect this week. It was not too hot during the day & jacket weather at night.
We enjoyed touring the Magic Kingdom today. At 5:00pm we walked back to our hotel for dinner. We ate Pizza Hut in our room that was from the restaurant in the hotel. After changing into warmer clothing we headed for California Adventure to walk around & Watch World Of Color. We had time to ride a few of the attractions & then had to line up for the late show of World Of Color before the early show was even over. Our fastpasses were for the late show at 9:15pm & were for the blue section so we lined up in that area. Once we were let in to grab a spot to sit we walked over to the bridge. it didn't seem too crowded & we had a perfect view of the show from here. Our youngest did not make it through the entire show. he was sleeping on the pavement & dad had to carry him back to the hotel room.
